NSW Swifts, celebrities and much more

A sold-out Sydney Olympic Park Sports Centre will play witness to a netball extravaganza on Sunday 21 June with two great games of netball.

First on court at 12pm will be “Netball’s Festival of Stars Celebrity Match” where Network TEN Commentators Liz Ellis and Luke Darcy go head to head with their star-laden teams.

Some of the stars suiting up for Ellis’ pink team (representing the National Breast Cancer Foundation) are Adam Spencer, former Wallaby captain John Eales and 7-time surfing world champion Layne Beachley. Whilst at the other end of the court, the Blue team led by Darcy (representing Beyond Blue) will feature Wil Anderson, AFL legend Chris Grant and INXS member Kirk Pengilly.

Then the ANZ Championship action heats up with the round 12 clash between the NSW Swifts and West Coast Fever. This will be the last home game for the NSW Swifts in the 2009 ANZ Championship.

The last time these two teams met was back in round five when they played out an extra time thriller with the Fever prevailing 67-66. The NSW Swifts will be out to reverse that score line, and with a vocal, sell out home crowd behind them they are one step closer to taking the points.
