Diamonds finish third
The Diamonds have finished third in the inaugural World Netball Series in Manchester after defeating England, 23-18 in the play-off for third earlier this morning.
Susan Pratley, Kimberlee Green, Catherine Cox and Rebecca Bulley, who was a late inclusion after Gerrard was ruled out with injury, flew the flag for the NSW Swifts.
Finishing the rounds in second place, the Diamonds ran into a determined Silver Ferns in the semi-final who led the match at every change, including an unassailable 13 goal lead heading into the final quarter.
The Ferns continued this impressive form into the Final where they met Jamaica who had surprised home town favourites England earlier in the day.
A tight five goal victory, 32-27 which was set up with a third quarter power play saw the Silver Ferns crowned the inaugural champions.
