Diamonds announce 2010 UK Tour
With the Commonwealth Games in Delhi, India less than 12 months away, the Australian Diamonds will travel to the United Kingdom for matches against England and Scotland in February 2010.
An important step in their Commonwealth Games preparations, the Diamonds will play five tests against their Northern Hemisphere rivals before returning for the start of the ANZ Championship on 20 March.
“We have three Tests against England – as number three ranked country in the world they will be a serious threat in Delhi. It is also important to play the top nations to maintain our number one ranking,” Netball Australia’s General Manager of High Performance Natalie Wright-Boyd said.
“Going into Scotland is about the long term plan for the 2014 Commonwealth Games [to be held in Glasgow]. It is important to go in now and get that experience so we can start preparing for 2014.”
