Christmas wishes from Kim Green
I can’t believe it is Christmas time and 2010 is nearly here!
Pre-season training is well and truly underway for the NSW Swifts. We are all working harder than ever to make sure that come to our pre-season tournament and round one of the ANZ Championship that we are in top shape to tackle anything the other ANZ Championship teams will throw at us.
Right now my pre-season focus is on aerobic fitness and weights. Our Strength and Conditioning coach, Bryce has the team doing lots of running in three minute or longer stints to ensure we build up a strong aerobic base. Our focus in the gym is on our legs and building the strength in our lower body, with only a little bit on our arms. It’s really tough work!
Christmas is also a time where we can reflect on the people that helped us throughout the year. I’d like to thank the fans for their support of the NSW Swifts in 2009. It was a tough year on the court, but you stuck with us through the hard times and I know that 2010 will be better. Also, to my family thank you for your unconditional support.
We hope to see you all at the Sydney Olympic Park Sports Centre on Saturday 10 April when we play the Central Pulse in our first home game of the 2010 ANZ Championship. Don’t forget to wear lots of red and make lots of noise!
And if you want to join us at each home game, you could buy a membership to the RED ZONE and become a NSW Swifts member.
On behalf of the NSW Swifts, I would like to wish you and your family a safe and enjoyable festive season.
I hope Santa is good to you!
Kim Green
