Masterchef Swifts Style
In one kitchen there was Team Burrito featuring Vanessa Ware, Kristy Durheim, Sam May and Kim Borger, in another kitchen was Team Taco featuring Kim Green, Jo Sutton, April Letton and Susan Pratley, and then there was Team Dessert featuring Carla Dziwoki, Mo’onia Gerrard, Sonia Mkoloma and Amorette Wild.
But the challenge wasn’t just to cook for the entire team; they were also given a budget of $100 for them to buy all the ingredients needed to whip up their masterpieces.
There were tears (from chopping onions) and lots of laughter as the three groups got down to business preparing the mince for the tacos and chicken for the burritos.
As the 7pm deadline fast approached the dishes started to arrive in the dining room and there were plenty of ‘ohs and ahs’ as they marvelled at their handy work.
With satisfied looks on their faces as the first course was left to settle, Team Dessert left the room to finish their preparations.
This was no ordinary dessert – no ice cream and jelly in sight!
