NSW Swifts break a Fever
Although off to a shaky start, the NSW Swifts found their rhythm in the third quarter and defeated the West Coast Fever before a 2,470 strong crowd of New South Welshmen 66 - 54.
In fact, the 66 goal win was the highest score of the ANZ Championship thus far and the West Coast Fever`s 54 was also their highest score in the new competition.
The 12 goal margin was exactly what the NSW Swifts to keep themselves up the ANZ Championship ladder and in contention for that “final four”.
With the crowd willing them on the NSW Swifts were relentless in the second half and pushed past the Fever who had run toe-for-toe with the home side for the first 30 minutes.
Pratley shot a huge 34 goals from 37 attempts @ 92%, the best performance of the shooters of the night.
Cath Cox commented “that it is not easy to turn yourself around from a deficit to create the victory”, so much was learnt from the match.
So tonight, the NSW Swift broke the hoodoo of the two losses, with a convincing game against the Fever.
Now, attention turns to next week as the NSW Swifts travel to South Australia to take on the Adelaide Thunderbirds in Round 8 of the ANZ Championship.
