Cox supports Swans in 09
On a glorious Sydney day, the picturesque Bondi Beach was the perfect backdrop for the Sydney Swans Season Launch on Tuesday.
NSW Swifts captain, Catherine Cox was one of many guests enjoying the event, which featured a welcome by AFL CEO Andrew Demetriou and a special screening of the new 2009 AFL TV advertisement, “in a league of its own”.
Guest were also treated to an inspiring speech by Swans coach, Paul Roos who provided his thoughts on why the public should get behind the Sydney Swans in 2009.
The Sydney Swans will begin the 2009 AFL Premiership Season on Saturday night against St Kilda in Melbourne. Fans can catch all the action on Network Ten from 7:30pm.
Saturday 4 April will be the start of a big weekend of AFL / Netball action with the Swans playing 2008 Premiers, Hawthorn at ANZ Stadium on the Saturday night and the NSW Swifts opening their 2009 ANZ Championship campaign on Monday 6 April against the Canterbury Tactix.
